Three journalists working with the Enikass TV have been killed by an gunman in Jalalabad city of Afghanistan, while they were on their way home from the TV station.

Amnesty International has condemned the attack and said that “these appalling attacks should be stopped immediately.”

“The government should investigate these killings and bring perpetrators to justice.” Amnesty said in a tweet.

Daesh has claimed responsibility for the attack. According to the officials, one of the attackers has been arrested by police.

According to reports, the female employees of Enakaas TV were being threatened with life by Daesh and other armed groups for the past few months.

Attacks on Journalists are not new in Afghanistan. Last year, a journalist named Malalai Maiwand was killed by unknown gunmen on the International Human Rights Day.

According to a United Nations report, more than 30 media workers and journalists have been killed in Afghanistan since 2018.
