The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to postpone the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), after a rise in Covid-19 cases.
Seven players and one support staff official had tested positive for the virus which led to question marks over PCB’s bio-secure bubble arrangements and reservations from foreign players, reported Cricket Pakistan.
Quetta Gladiators’ Tom Banton and Islamabad United’s Fawad Ahmed and Lewis Gregory were among the players who tested positive for the virus recently.
“Considering the health and wellbeing of all participants is paramount” read the Cricket Pakistan report, citing PCB officials.
Earlier, the PCB had offered Covid-19 vaccine shots to every member of the PSL bubble,if they wish to take them.
