“Pawri horahi hai”: Pak MNAs celebrate Imran Khan’s trust vote win in the National Assembly

Imran Khan, on Saturday, won a trust vote in the National Assembly, Pakistan. Khan secured 178 votes in the 342-member lower house of Parliament.

Soon after Khan’s win, several members of the National Assembly Pakistan started sloganeering in the National Assembly.

Faheem Khan, the MNA from NA-241 (Korangi Karachi-III) posted a video to Facebook. In the video, inspired by Danadeer Mobeen’s Pawri Horahi hai, MNA Faheem Khan says “Yeh hum hen, yeh humare PM hen… Aur Opposition zaleel hogayi hai” (This is Us, this is our PM…and the opposition has been humiliated).

Khan’s trust vote win flooded the internet with memes.

Some netizens even shared the Pakistani PM’s famous “Cornered Tiger” video.

Imran Khan became “the first prime minister to undertake such an exercise after the passage of the 18th Amendment”.

The vote of trust came after the finance minister lost the hotly-contested Senate elections. Imran Khan’s PTI need 172 votes for a simple majority, he secured 178 votes.

The Pakistani Premier thanked government lawmakers, including his allies, for staying by his side through thick and thin, after winning the trust vote.
